Elana Karp is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Kittch. She is an entrepreneur, chef, and cookbook author with expertise at the intersection of food and technology, and a passion for helping people eat better. Prior to starting Kittch, Elana was the Head Chef and Co-Founder of Plated, the national meal-kit company. Her food career began while teaching second grade with Teach for America. Witnessing how little her students understood about health and nutrition, she was inspired to shift gears and study cooking at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.  After finishing culinary school, Elana started a small food business, teaching families and children how to cook, and ran a culinary and nutrition program for local New York City elementary schools with the goal of developing great eating habits at an early age. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, son, daughter, and dog (named Hazelnut).
